Evolving Our Defences for the Age of AI-Enabled Threats

You may have seen recent industry discussion about advanced AI models – such as Anthropic’s internal “Mythos” preview, and their potential to discover and exploit software vulnerabilities autonomously and at speed.

While the most advanced of these models are not intended for public release, their capabilities signal a genuine shift in what every responsible service provider must prepare for.

At Meridian IT, we treat this as a call to measured action, not a cause for alarm. Our security programme is built on established best practice, and we are currently undertaking a focused review to identify practical, risk-based improvements that will strengthen our resilience against faster, automated threats.

We treat cyber security as a board-level responsibility and are actively reviewing our risk posture to ensure it remains robust against these new classes of attack. This review is part of our ongoing commitment to protect your services.

We support the government’s call for businesses to strengthen their cyber resilience. In the meantime, we encourage all customers to maintain strong security fundamentals: enforce multi-factor authentication, apply critical patches promptly, and review third-party access to your own environments.

The advance of AI-enabled threats is an industry-wide evolution – not a vulnerability in any Meridian IT product or service.
